Easter

Well my camera ran out of batteries and we don't have a rechargeable one yet so I haven't taken pictures for a while. These are pictures taken with other people's camera that have my children in them. The one on the bottom is at my mom's house. We had dinner and an easter egg hunt there. It was fun for the kids. They got more candy and have been eating it non-stop. This picture has all of my mom's grandkids in it except for one--Olivia--the youngest who was inside. What a crew they are. The picture on the top is Garrett and his cousin Jayden at Plain City's easter egg hunt (well they through candy on the ground so technically you are hunting candy and not easter eggs). It was a fun time but I only survived because my sister Angie and her husband Travis were there. They had each age group split up and all three of my kids were in a different group and I was by myself. Thankfully Angie took Kylie, Travis took Garrett with Jayden and Shaylee helped me go with Connor. It is fun to get involved in community activities. That is why we are liking Plain City so much. Before that easter egg hunt we had a ward breakfast and easter egg hunt too. You'd think my kids would be easter egg hunted out but they got excited with each new hunt. All of this was on Saturday. On Sunday we got up and have early early church. After church the kids got their easter basket and found the colored eggs we dyed. They liked their baskets. It had little things in it like coloring books, bubbles, chalk, and other little toys. I also bought them Sonic the Hedgehog shirts and if you know my children, they went crazy. They are Sonic freaks!!! Seriously. They never want to take them off. Later that day we went to my in-laws house for dinner and they had an easter egg hunt. (thankfully the eggs were filled with money because I don't think we could have used any more candy). The boys are learning to save some, pay tithing with some and then they get to do with what they want for the rest. They think they are so rich and want to buy things that cost like $30 but they only have like $5. They think you can buy anything in the world if you have $1. Kylie was so cute in her easter dress. My sister-in-law Shauna took pictures of the easter egg hunt when she was in her dress so hopefully I can get a picture of that. Well all-in-all easter was pretty busy but we made sure we stressed to the kids the real reason why we have easter. We went over the easter story over and over so that they had it always in their minds. I can't believe how fast kids grow up. It all flies by so fast.

KYLIE IS WALKING

Well it took her 15 months to do it, but Kylie is now walking. (I wish I could have put a picture of her actually walking on here but my camera's battery died and so I put one of her on the monorail at disneyland). It was kind of nice to have my third child wait until 15 months to walk but she began walking a few weeks ago and now I have to try to keep up with her. She loves to run around the halls at church (only two more months until nursery). It is fun to see your kids hit milestone markers in their life. Her vocabulary is taking off too. Everything else in our life is pretty boring. I was excited to have Twilight come out on DVD though. I preordered it and got it a day early and was excited to watch it. We also took the kids on a hike yesterday and at first they loved it but then Connor said his legs were going to fall off. I felt the same way too. It was fun anyways. We went with a few friends of ours and their kids and it was fun to see all the little kids interact with each other. This week me and Chelton will be going to the builder's convention in St. George and get to leave the kids with grandmas. That should be a pretty exciting week. Hopefully we all survive it.

Air conditioning

Connor is such a special guy. I don't know how boring my life would be without him. He is not in preschool yet so he gets to spend the whole day with me and he will not leave my side. He is a character for sure. I don't know where he comes up with the things he does. A funny story yesterday he kept telling me he has an air conditioner. I could not understand what he meant but he kept telling me that throughout the day. Finally I asked him to show me his air conditioner and he brings me into the bathroom. It turns out he has been talking about a big bottle of conditioner that I have that has a pump on it. He had been putting air conditioner on his hands like lotion all day. Gotta love kids!!! This week has been pretty uneventful. Connor is finally over the pain of his tonsils and is healed nicely. Kylie however is cutting a molar and has a little cold so life has been a little miserable for her. She only is really bad at night though. (What is it about the nighttime that makes kids so much worse than the day?) We must be pretty boring because there is nothing really going on to talk about this upcoming week either. Well I guess boring suits us pretty well.

Garrett and Connor's surgeries

Well this week has sure been a tough one. Both Garrett and Connor had surgery this week. Connor had his tonsils and adenoids out and Garrett had his adenoids out. Both of them did not do so well with the anesthesia and threw up the whole day and night. After that day Garrett has ben doing great. Connor is slowly getting better. Nights are horrible because he wakes up with his mouth hurting and screams. Just a few more days and it will be all better. Garrett will be going back to school tomorrow. The rest of the family is good. We had sort of a weird week with the surgery and all. I did take the kids sledding this week and they loved that. It has been kind of nice to lay around and watch movies with the kids and let them recover. We got a good dose of High School Musical 3 and Madagascar 2. Well hopefully next week will be a easier one for us.

KYLIE

Kylie is getting so fun. She is now 14 months old. She can now say 9 words: No, yes, bath, Dumbo, Diego, ruff ruff, mama, dadoh (daddy) and uh-oh. She will stand for a few seconds but will still not walk. I am not in any hurry for her to walk though. She is already hard to catch when she crawls. This week she has been sick with a cold. Not much fun. Next post will be about the boys. They both have to have surgery next week so I will write more about that.

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma

Well I get in trouble from some people (you know who you are) if I don't update my blog so I guess I will update what has happened since we got back from Disneyland. Actually we must be pretty boring people because nothing new really happens. We had a Wii party with the boys and they loved that. We rented a few games and stayed up playing them as a family. We had pizza and banana splits and rootbeer floats and everything. It is hard playing Nintendo with Garrett though. I used to have to let him win and now I couldn't win if my life depended on it.
We also had fun watching the superbowl at Chelton's parent's house. Don't ask me who was playing let alone who won though (not a football fan). We did get in a good Scrabble match with my dad last week. We are kind of Scrabble nerds. When we go on vacation with my dad we spend hours and hours playing. Usually it just goes back and forth between Chelton and my dad winning but once and a while I get to win.
Just last Saturday we went to my grandma's 80th birthday party. It was nice to see all of my cousins and aunts and uncles. We sure don't get together very much at all. It was nice to see my grandma too. Happy Birthday Grandma!!!
Well in other news we will find out tomorrow if Connor has to have his tonsils out or not. That will be fun. I guess it is better to get them out now rather than later in life. Garrett is still having a good time in 1st grade. He is doing so good in reading, spelling, math and science. He comes home and tells me things I didn't know (I guess I'm not smarter than a 1st grader). Kylie just turned 14 months. She is getting so close to walking. She will stand by herself and sometimes takes a step but that is all right now. I guess it's her tiny size making her legs not strong enough but she sure is close. It is snowing hard today so that means Chelton is out plowing all day and all night. We love and also hate the snow at our house. Well I will try to update my blog weekly to you few people who actually look at it, even though not much happens here at the Spendlove residence. I guess if nothing happens it means nothing bad is happening either.

Disneyland

Well it has been a long long long time since I have updated here. My mom keeps telling me I need to update so I thought with my extra spare time I would and six months later I found some spare time. We just got back from Disneyland so I thought I would share some photos of that. We had a fun time. We went over Connor's 4th birthday and it was so fun. He wore a happy birthday button and everyone (including Santa and Mrs. Claus from their float during the parade) said happy birthday to him. He loved it.
