Graduation

On Friday Chelton graduated from Weber State's Law Enforcement Academy. He has been going full time since August and has been working very hard. It is a big accomplishment and we are very proud of him. He got a job with the Millard County Sheriff's Department and the Millard County Sheriff and the Captain came to graduation to present Chelton with his certificate. We are also proud of him because he is an excellent shooter and got the top shooter award in his class. He starts his new job down in Fillmore in a few days and we are excited. The rest of us will join him in a few weeks when our house is available. I know he will make a excellent police officer and all his hard work and training will pay off

Turning six

LOOK WHO'S SIX
Photobucket

Connor just had his birthday last week and turned six. I can't believe how big he is getting and how smart he is getting. He is such a good kid and definitely my sweetheart. His birthday was on a Tuesday so after school we took the kids to Toad's and used the gift certificates they got for Christmas. They played laser tag with Chelton and then just had fun playing video games and earning tickets. They earned over 900 tickets because they kept hitting jackpots. We had a lot of fun. We then met my mom and dad at El Matador and had dinner. He got sung to and loved that. He likes being the center of attention. He was funny because while we were singing there were two ladies eating across the room that didn't sing and he was mad because they didn't sing. I told them they probably didn't like birthdays and he just couldn't get over it. He talked about those two ladies all night...it really bothered him. Then we went back with Chelton's parent's and had cake and ice cream. He got a new dinosaur dragon and spongebob flashlight from me and Chelton and a dinosaur board game and dinosaur stamps from Grandma and Grandpa Girardo and some new clothes from Grandma and Grandpa Spendlove. On the Saturday after he had a Dinosaur party with his friends (can you tell he loves dinosaurs). He had about 13 little boys and girls running around playing games and having fun. Chelton made another awesome cake (he is really talented at that--see picture below---). This was his first friend party and he was so excited for it. He kept saying all of this is for me? Must be the second child syndrome...poor kid....We watched the movie Ramona and Beazus last night and it just reminded us of a girl version of Connor...he is just our unique, special, colors out of the lines, marches to the beat of his own drum, hilarious, one of a kind kid....everyone needs a Connor in their life and we don't know what we would do without him....

His new dinosaur dragon that he fake fainted when he opened because he was so excited about...what a goof

Christmas 2010

The holiday season is always a busy one for us. We start by celebrating Kylie's birthday, have our anniversary, Christmas, New Year's and end by celebrating Connor's birthday. It is definitely a busy time of the year. This year was especially busy for us with Chelton being in school and graduating from the police academy. It all went by so fast.

Christmas get's more fun every year with little kids. We definitely had a smaller Christmas than we have had before with Chelton not working this year but we still had a good one. The kids had a lot of fun!! We had a lot of fun also having our secret elf Percy come leave them treats 12 days before Christmas in their shoe. Kylie is still asking me if she can leave her shoe out for Percy. She just doesn't want Christmas to be over.

We had a Christmas party the Saturday before Christmas with my family at my mom's house. It was a lot of fun. We had good food and fun. I was in charge of the games and we had a lot of fun with the kids. We played Christmas bingo and Christmas pictionary and my sister Mandee did a fun pass the present game. The hit of the night had to be a game I made up called "The 12 days of cousins." We had each kid be a different day with a different action. When it got to their respective day, they had to do their different action for that day. (like 8 Kylie's jumping and she would jump, 7 Connor's dancing and then he would dance, 6 Garrett's robot and he would do the robot, etc.) The kids really hammered this up and we were all laughing pretty hard. It worked well because the kids are a little bit older. We tried it with my in-laws and the kids were too young to really get into it.

We spent Christmas Eve with my in-laws and had a fun night. We played some more Christmas Bingo and had a yummy dinner. We opened our Christmas jammies and read the Christmas story. We got to spend it with Chelton's Grandma Spendlove and the kids got to open the presents from her. That night we didn't have too much to wrap so we actually got to bed pretty early.

The kids had a fun Christmas Day. We visited with both grandparents again and then just rested and played the rest of the day. It was a very fun Christmas this year!!!

A shining sunbeam

Well Kylie went to Sunbeams for the first time this week. I can't believe first my baby just turned three and then went to Sunbeams. Went she first went to nursery I was the mom that had to sneak out but she finally got over that and got to the point where she would just wave goodbye. She was really excited to be a Sunbeam. She got to sit right in front of Connor in sharing time and he said she kept turning around and talking to him a lot but apparently other than that did okay. The whole night she kept singing "I am a Child of God" and it was so cute because she doesn't quite sing the song right and it was just darling. I am so proud of how good she is. It is hard to be so young and not get to go play with toys at church anymore but she will do great!!!
